Sustainability. We all hear this word more often than we want to and peer pressure is real. Choosing a sustainable lifestyle and detaching from the old habits is difficult. But the key to adapt a sustainable living is to start small. Starting from level zero and sticking to that habit will naturally trigger our reward system to act more in the chosen path.
Sustainability in our actions improves the quality of our lives, protects and preserves our ecosystem's natural resources for every living creature and the future generations to come. There are a number of reason to make this change in your lifestyle but when you start out, keep in mind that you have a higher purpose contributing to the welfare of all living creatures and the planet on the whole.
Like I mentioned previously, the key is to start small with things you can easily control. It can be anything from saying no to plastic cutlery or shopping groceries in a bulk to avoid plastic packaging or even composting biodegradable items that can't be eaten (I encourage to not waste food that is edible because it's a loss of resources that are used to produce it).
Whether it's shopping or eating or even traveling, it’s a good practice to prioritize sustainability. Lifestyle changes from one person can go on to inspire others and create significant change to the people around you. By buying sustainable goods or adopting sustainable practices, you’re saying no to environmental degradation and yes to protecting our world. In addition, these choices greatly affect factory workers and future generations because sustainability covers people and the planet.
